Gautam Gambhir: ‘Sometimes you cross the line but…’: Irfan Pathan on Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir’s on-field hug | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: During the Indian Premier League match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday, an unexpected on-field reunion between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir captured the attention of cricket fans, marking a significant moment of reconciliation between the two former adversaries.
The encounter between Kohli and Gambhir, who had a tumultuous history marked by heated exchanges on the field, took a surprising turn as they were seen shaking hands and sharing smiles during a strategic timeout at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The gesture of goodwill between Kohli and Gambhir, who were involved in a highly-publicized spat during IPL 2024, was captured in a viral video on social media, signaling a positive development in their relationship.

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, who has played alongside both Kohli and Gambhir, weighed in on the incident, highlighting the maturity displayed by Gambhir in initiating the reconciliation.
“Gautam Gambhir, the senior guy, actually came forward. Sometimes you cross the line but as soon as that thing has gone past, when you meet in the future, when you meet now, you meet nicely. This is what we saw,” Pathan remarked on Star Sports, emphasizing the significance of moving past conflicts.
Meanwhile, amidst the buzz surrounding the Kohli-Gambhir reunion, the match itself witnessed a scintillating batting display by Kolkata Knight Riders, who clinched a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
KKR also became the first team to register an away game victory in the ongoing season of the IPL.
